OUT OF A STICKY YELLOW GLOB Words byZan, tune 'Out of a Clear Blue Sky' by Dr. Jane Once upon a dino's head A drunken insect burped and said 'Hey man, this blood is really groovy I'm seeing like this freaky movie. Gather round and lend an ear I've flashed on stuff you ought to hear.' He took another slurp of haemoglobin And visions through his brain began a-strobin'.... CHORUS 'There is this amber stuff that comes from a tree And when it cools it hardens you see It'll trap me inside so that after I've died I'll turn into a fossil And the consequences could turn out to be colossal.' 'When the dinosaurs are dead The earth belongs to apes instead And apes will always poke and pry Into the dust of times gone by. So from the grave of some dead tree An ape will someday dig up Me.' The other insects chittered with disdain And so our hero told them once again... CHORUS 'Apes by now will have the means To remake life by splicing genes They'll suck the blood out of my tummy So I'll become a dino's mummy And just the way it was before The dinos will be tops once more.' The other insects still refused to hear And so our hero told them with a sneer... CHORUS Thus spake our hero in his pride As on the dino he did ride But as he reached his final act There was a sickening impact A tree had struck the dino's head And squashed our visionary dead. And as he died he muttered with a frown 'I really should have got it written down...' FINAL CHORUS 'There was this amber stuff that came from a tree But now it will hold nothing of me All the blood I have drunk is spread over the trunk I'll never be a fossil And the consequences could turn out to be colossal.' (Without me how will Spielberg survive?) (Without me how will Hollywood survive?) (Without me how will cinema survive?) (Whaddya mean, some other bug?!)
