Stormcastle Age

Day 3. Absolutely miserable. Rained solidly for hours. It appears that part of the inscription on the wall is the English phrase "Go back" transliterated into D'ni, but not phonetically. The team have suggested that this Age was written recently by another explorer and planted in my Gahreesen. If that's true, and someone has stolen a march on me and learned the Art to that degree of proficiency already, I shall be considerably put out.

When the rain finally packed up, I started on my combing of the island. The going was soft and treacherous. I hate getting mud between my toes. My efforts were finally crowned with success, though:

Potted plant?

The only potted fern on the island. I dug out the pot and emptied it. At the bottom was a piece of paper.

Piece of paper

A top-heavy pentagram. Presumably this indicates a pattern to be traced among the letters on the wall. However, by the time I found it I was cold, wet, filthy and tired, so I'll check it out against the KI pictures tomorrow.

I suppose it's possible that a D'ni might have seen the English words written and transliterated them without knowing their pronunciation. It seems likely that the language Anna spoke and wrote was English, since that seems to be the Surface language Gehn, Atrus and Catherine knew. But what's the significance?

Too many questions and not enough information, froddit. I want a hot bath.
